Motivation

This week I want to talk about your motivation. Or specifically, your soul's purpose, which I believe is the basis for all of our motivation.

 
As in, when someone comes to me with the issue of wanting more motivation, I immediately recognize that it's not motivation that they need. It's that they are not motivated by the things that they are doing.

You see, motivation is not one of those things you gain and lose. It's not because you are drained.
 
It's because your system is telling you that you are not in alignment.
 
Motivation is our system's way of keeping us on track.
 
I've tried so many times to plow through towards a goal and simply fell short. I couldn't do it.
 
Then I made myself feel bad. What's wrong with me? I really want to do this thing. It's helpful to others, why can't I do it?
 
Guilt.
 
I hunted for a cure for a lack of motivation until I realized that motivation is excitement. It comes from inside naturally when you are on the right track.
 
Think of a series of stepping stones. They are put out in front of you for you to know your next step.
 
When you think that the next stepping stone is in a straight line from the one you're on, you step out into the mud.
 
It feels yucky and hard to walk in. You lose motivation.
 
All you have to do is start looking for the actual stepping stone. Where is it?
